OWERRI—Reactions have continued to trail the periodic loss of lives at the ever busy Imo State University, Owerri, roundabout.
Reacting to the periodic road crashes at this strategic roundabout, state chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie, expressed regret over the number of precious lives already lost at the roundabout.
Anyaehie, who made his feelings known in Owerri, when the former Imo State governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, launched two books, which chronicled his achievements while in office, blamed the incidents on bad planning and lack of vision.
“Many precious lives have been sadly lost at the various roundabouts by the Governor Rochas Okorocha administration. It beats the imagination of sane minds, why a roundabout should be built midway into a long grade,” Anyaehie lamented.
While arguing that the art of administration could never be grabbed by force, the Imo PDP boss was also of the opinion that “the state would be doomed if the citizens allow policies, programmes and acts, leading to avoidable loss of human lives to continue.”
He noted that 2015 was the ideal time to salvage the state from misrule, pointing out that the state was already in ruins occasioned by huge debt portfolio.
