11 Killed, Many Injured As Suicide Bomb Storms Church In Jaji, Zaria

It's another black Sunday in Kaduna, Kaduna State as no fewer than five (5) people have been confirmed dead from the deadly suicide bomber attack at the Protestant Church located at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College.

A credible source at the Military Hospital disclosed that he has seen 5 corpses brought in so far as well as many, including choir members, injured from the blasts.

He also said some of the cases brought in may be beyond the capacity of the hospital to treat and they may have to be referred to the 44 Army Reference Hospital or the ABU Teaching Hospital, Shika.

The source said a good number of those affected by the blast were members of the church's choir as the congregation had already begun to disperse when the attack happened.

As at the time of reporting, authorities at the Cantonment have sealed off all entry and exit routes into the barracks as well as blocking all traffic on the Zaria to Kaduna lane of the express way in front of the cantonment.

It was gathered that a smaller bomb was initially detonated causing a scare before a suicide bomber drove a bomb-laden car into the church, causing serious havoc.
